Aside from the one for one syringe exchange, the IDEA Exchange provides a host of prevention services on its main site and on its mobile unit.
These include: anonymous HIV and Hepatitis C Testing, safe injection kits, basic wound care, condoms, overdose prevention, and referrals to rehabilitation and treatment
Safe Injection Packs
We offer safe injection packs to reduce the need of sharing which include cottons, cookers, ties, sterile water, alcohol swabs, and portable sharps containers. By providing these tools to those who inject drugs, we help reduce the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C.
Naloxone Packs
Naloxone, otherwise known as Narcan, is a prescription, life-saving medication used for drug overdose reversals. The IDEA Exchange is able to provide free Naloxone to individuals, their families, and to organizations who do not have a prescription or insurance.
Harm Reduction Packs
We provide basic wound care supplies such as bandages, antibiotics and sanitizers. We also offer condoms to prevent the spread of transmissible infections.
HIV & Hepatitis C Testing
We offer free anonymous HIV and HCV rapid testing. These tests can be administered at our main site and on our mobile unit
Linkage to Rehabilitation & Treatment
The IDEA Exchange has partnered with many community stakeholders who are able to assist with drug rehabilitation and treatment from addictive drugs.
